Laura Gillen, New York

Rep. Laura Gillen is a graduate of Georgetown University and NYU School of Law who began her public service as a George Baker Scholar. In 2017 she became the first Democrat elected Hempstead Town Supervisor in more than a century, overseeing a roughly $500 million budget, and she previously practiced law and taught as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University. Her priorities include affordability, government accountability, and effective local governance that restores public trust.
